i dont know what age he/she is but he/shes about 6-7 inches. at night he sleeps in the gravel or on my driftwood.

what do your fahakas do during the day? is it normal for them to hide in the gravel a long periods in the day? mine will swim up and down the aquarium for a little bit....and then go hide in the gravel. any thoughts?

i was watching it longer while it feeds. i think he actually likes taking his time. he'll bite off a leg and then hide while the crayfish calms down and then bite another leg off. after he bit all the legs off....he went for the eyes....and then all of a sudden he just bit right into the tail. this ...

i see.....when i got him he had some torn fins so maybe that might be the fins healing. well i'll monitor him and see if his behavior changes. so far he's eating and swimming normally. thanks!

i just found a white spot on one of my fahaka's fin. its not ick because theres only one and its too big to be ick. im thinking it might be a bacterial infection. what kind of medication can I use; i know copper is bad for puffers.

when i feed my fahaka crayfish sometimes he'll just give up because he cant win. its like he wants to eat it but the crayfish puts up a fight and the puffer just gives up. i thought fahakas are supposed to be vicious hunters. i have a 6-7" fahaka vs. a 4" crayfish. he cant even bite thru t...

do any of your puffers regurgitate the shell after eating shelled foods? i've never seen that until i got my fahaka.

im hoping in a couple weeks. you think he'll hold up?

yes...it was refrigerated at all times. from the lfs to my house it was in the car but it wasnt hot. when i got home i put it in the fridge. i read something about there being slight peaks in the parameters. what do you think?

does the biospira eliminate any spikes in the parameters? cause right now my ammonia is around .75 and nitrite is at .25. do you think the puffer can withstand that for a little bit?

i cycled it with bio-spira. and i added another pack of biospira when i added the puffer. How soon before adding the puffer did you put in the 1st pack? If longer than 24 hours, you waisted your $$$. i cycled it first with feeders and then a couple days later...i took out the feeders and added the ...

yes its cycled. i cycled it with bio-spira. and i added another pack of biospira when i added the puffer.

well...i already exceeded my limit of 1 week at my lfs. i wouldve have bought it but fahakas barely come by at my lfs. they told me to take it or they would sell it to someone else.

you guys are going to hate me but how long do you think i can keep a 6" fahaka in a 30 gallon with normal feeding. im planning on upgrading to a 125 gallon soon.
