you guys are going to hate me but how long do you think i can keep a 6" fahaka in a 30 gallon with normal feeding. im planning on upgrading to a 125 gallon soon.
Up to yesterday? Poor joke, but it is time or past time. Growth has momentum, at 6" the fish is at the margin on exercise and water quality. The physical limitations will start to affect its growth rate. The fish is not far from puberty and needs to grow without interruption through that.

well...i already exceeded my limit of 1 week at my lfs. i wouldve have bought it but fahakas barely come by at my lfs. they told me to take it or they would sell it to someone else.

Plan on doing daily water changes but get that bigger tank ASAP, as he's going to need the room for simple movement. Ever see some of those large fish with bent spines and permanent deformities from being kept in too small of a tank? That's in the near future for your guy if he's 6" already.

does the biospira eliminate any spikes in the parameters? cause right now my ammonia is around .75 and nitrite is at .25. do you think the puffer can withstand that for a little bit?
yes...it was refrigerated at all times. from the lfs to my house it was in the car but it wasnt hot. when i got home i put it in the fridge. i read something about there being slight peaks in the parameters. what do you think?
Even if the biospira worked, it isn't going to be easy to maintain good water quality in a 30 gal with a fahaka in it (especially since it's already 6")! Do more water changes! Poor fahaka!!!
