F8's confused for Ceylons??

Post by DrKennethNoisewater »

My friend who i was asking questions about the F8 with the puffed up eye sent me pics of his F8's and one is a CEYLON! Just wondering if this is a common mistake?? they look pretty similar as little guys. I guess it wouldn't be a very common mistake when full grown....for most :poke:

both were sold to him as F8's BTW

also, if i were to use a bigger tank, is it crazy to keep a ceylon with a GSP from young? they are both under 2 inches... i assume not.... just wondering because we are now in a pickle...

Yep--extremely common. That's the only way I've ever found them.

Yes, if the tank is large enough, like a 75g or larger.

same. i have only ever seen one in person. it was the last remaining in a tank labeled "Figure 8 Puffers". right away i noticed he was big for a F8 and figured he was a ceylon. went to get him two days later and he was gone :(

hmmm. well i think my buddy has decided to keep the ceylon and re-home the F8. but he would probably go the other way if someone wants the ceylon....

I would like the ceylon! How big? Uh.. I think shipping onto U.S. soil will be hard.
Kind regards,

Filbert's still the :smitten: of my life. I've gotten heavy into reef-keeping now. Soon setting up a 40g cube tank for show-quality goldfish.
