I have oysters I bought live chillin in my freezer, haven't gotten to them yet, but I bought clams, mussels, and oysters live. It's suggested that you freeze them first, that will kill off anything harmful, and then defrost them in warm water, preferably vitamin enriched. I use tank water because my tap water has high leaves of ammonia. None of my lfs carry vitamins, so I have yet to buy some online.
