You cannot see high DOCs but are still water polution and require extra water changes which would not be needed if frozen/thawed foods were rinsed initially.

That makes a lot of sense. I'll be sure to rinse from now on!

turkey baster? i have one for fish stuff, but ive always used a medicine dropper for worms...

I don't have a medicine dropper yet, nor do I have my puffers yet, so I always place the worms in a specific corner at the bottom of the tank for my kuhli loaches to eat. I don't like reaching into the tank every day, so the turkey baster helps me to get the worms where I need them instead of having them all over!

50% of the food I offer is live blackworms. I soak them in vitamins & ground fish food.

I wasn't sure when I'd be getting my puffers, so when I got my first kuhli loach, I got frozen bloodworms to feed in addition to the aufwuchs gel and blanched zucchini that my otos and their fry get.

I'm w/PP on blackworms. I do use a brine shrimp net. Eyedroppers tend to break up the worms for me and I use way too many to wait for a tea strainer. Infant syringes work better if you move slowly. My breeding non-puffer fish get live blackworms at least 3x weekly.

I am seriously not getting the hang of this rinsing thing. No matter what I do, it seems like small particles float off of the worms as I place them in the tank. I hate debris in the tank!

I will be so happy when I get the live blackworms. It doesn't seem to me like bits and pieces of them will fall off after rinsing. Unless I'm terribly mistaken.

Are the frozen bloodworms my best option to use for treating my dwarf puffers for IPs when I get them soon, or can live blackworms be soaked in the medicine?
