Yeah, as much as I really like them, I'm done keeping them. I'll stick with what I know has long-term survival in my tanks.

What about FH's? I think they're pretty resilient for a hybrid...RTR wrote:A number of Angelfish strains went away a while back in the "plague". That was basically over-breeding as well. Sorry, what are FH?
Hybrids are not the same as selection and line breeding of variant strains. But those hybrids which are fertile are generally line-bred to "fix" selected strains. That in-breeding and back-crossing may fix the desired trait(s), but commonly also "fixes" (makes permanent) some highly undesirable traits.

I don't like discus or flowerhorns. Nice colors, but they don't look right to me. Same as fancy goldfish, I guess. Something seems off about them - unhealthy, overdone.

It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.
