I see absolutely no flaming in this thread. Just discussion.

RTR wrote:No, actually I hate it. But I hate even more seeing folks with little knowledge or understanding and perhaps little mastery of the language throw out incorrect and/or misleading information as if it were established fact. This hobby supports a huge mythology from such poor and misleading information being read and accepted and spread by repetition as if it were valid. It damages far more folks than just the original questioner. So I do spend a lot of time myth-busting, but more in trying to teach good and valid hobby practices.
Perhaps I was just being a bit defensive. It felt like an attack rather then advice or guidance. You do make a lot of very good points. I do not claim to be an expert by any means. Perhaps I should be more careful in the way I phrase things to be sure it is understood that this may work for me, but is by no means law in the puffer community.
Friends?

:ontopic: I still think the Valenti might be just a tad more personable. But, the F8 is certainly less expensive when it comes to upkeep and maintenance. Also, the F8 would probably be a lot happier in a 30g tank. The Valenti would be at it's min recommended size, where as the F8 would actually have a just a bit of room to stretch out. F8 seems like a wise choice with all things considered.
