I dont know about .308. I think my primary would be a .22 LR, it has enough power to get into a skull, ammo is EVERYWHERE, and compared to a .308 or other large hunting/military round its a good deal more quiet. You can carry tons more .22 LR compared to larger rounds because of weight. That doesnt mean a .22LR would be my only gun of choice. Definitely a 5.56/.233 for some long range shots, and a good ole shot gun, maybe a saiga or something like a street sweeper. Finding a scout M6 (.22 over .410 under combo) would be a killer grab bag weapon for both survival and hunting. With all that being said all I have in my house are a few airsoft guns...
