I like to travel light, so my zombie prep kit consists of only 4 items:
1 Remington 700 bolt-action rifle
1 Bucket of iced down beer
1 Lawnchair
1 Chalk Scoreboard

I am Canadian. No guns here but I'll pummel them with timbits if need be.

I dont know about .308. I think my primary would be a .22 LR, it has enough power to get into a skull, ammo is EVERYWHERE, and compared to a .308 or other large hunting/military round its a good deal more quiet. You can carry tons more .22 LR compared to larger rounds because of weight. That doesnt mean a .22LR would be my only gun of choice. Definitely a 5.56/.233 for some long range shots, and a good ole shot gun, maybe a saiga or something like a street sweeper. Finding a scout M6 (.22 over .410 under combo) would be a killer grab bag weapon for both survival and hunting. With all that being said all I have in my house are a few airsoft guns... I dont think a ~440fps .25 gram plastic BB is going to do much...

I think finding your way to a boat is one of the top priorities. Zombies cant really swim, let alone crawl up on to a larger boat from the water. Now all your biggest worry becomes other humans, but compared to making a bunker, you are pretty set.

agree, my hand gun is a 22 lr. The 308 would be for long range shots.

I agree with the boat, thats why you take over a cruise ship or something like some rich persons HUGE 100+foot yacht. Something with plenty of room for tons of food and other supplies. And living in Florida, boats are easy to get your hands on

I dont have a picture on my comp of my dads boat, but this is what I would be heading for ASAP, his looks almost exactly like this:

Image

Sleeps 6, full gally, two bathroom, and very high sides, no zombies crawling out of the water on to the boat.

Hmmm zombies in Florida, I bet they would really get some nasty zombie rot from all the humidity, you could smell them coming after a few days.

What?????? No guns?????? Seriously????? Oh wow, you all be the 1st to go if zombies attacked. No self protection rights but I think here in America, taking the gun rights away would lead to my crime in a very crime filled country. Alot worse then Canadia and the UK from what I had heard and read.

Seriously, not many of us own guns. We don't live our lives in fear. If you don't feel threatened by anything then you have no need for a gun. A lot of people don't even lock their doors. The zombies can come on in :)
