Fahaka collection points?

Post by FADE2BLACK_1973 »

Just wondering if anyone knows where most Fahaka puffer's are collected in the wild? I know that they are collected mostly from the Nile River but what African country? I can't find any source on the web so that's why im asking here.

SFAIK, the number of Fahakas in the Nile has declined significantly the last few years.

But I have no clue as to where most are caught.

Anyone know any importers?

RTR, I know afew African cichlid exporters but no imports. I might ask one of them if they know or could ask their importer out of Africa.

Would be interesting to know. Are they considered a threatened species?

SFAIK, no more than any other Nile River species. They do occur naturally in other rivers. As with the Mekong, dam building and river channel work has a high impact on native species, most of which is unpredictable.. .
