GSP in new 37 gallon tank.

I used one bottle for backgrounds on my 46g, 29g. (2)10g, and the short side on (2)15g high tanks. They say it's good for up to 75g but there is way more than that in there. An old credit or "perks" card works great for application.

Thanks. I have a tendency to buy more than I need just so I'll have it on hand. I already have two totes full of stuff hidden under my bed. I got my supplies in yesterday to start converting to brackish. All I have to buy is some tubing to pump from the mixing can into the tank.

Okay, so who's the math nerd on the forum?, every forum has one. I want to figure out approximately what it's going to take to raise the salinity .001 for my tank. I plan on going very slowly and of coarse checking it with a hydrometer.

The package says for smaller mixing amounts use 1/2 cup per gallon or 1.5 lbs per 5 gallon for 1.022. My tank is 37 gallon with 1 1/2" sand & 40# rock. I'll be doing 50% changes once a week of 15 gallons.

I came up with a little over 1/4 cup per 15 gallon = .001

Do you think that heater will keep up?

I've been thinking of pretty much the exact same setup and I was thinking about a piece of plexiglass on the bottom for the pump and heater to suction cup to.

She is still real shy but getting a little better. I feed her in the back right corner and she'll actually come eat if I'm sitting on the bed next to the tank. But as soon as she's finished she's gone again.

It shouldn't be an issue. I keep the tank at 78* and that is within a few degrees of room temperature anyway so I'm hoping. If not then I'll buy a bigger one. I used this one because I had it already.

The plexiglass is a great idea, I wish I would have thought of it. I super glued the suction cup of the heater to the bottom. Since the pic was taken I found out I couldn't fasten the top down with the cords like that so I moved them in between the handles.

I'm mixing my first batch now approximately 18-20 gallon. Water was put in at tank temperature and first reading with hydrometer is 1/4 cup = .004. Does that sound right? How could it be that far off from the mixing directions on the bag?

I rechecked it after mixing for a couple of hours and it was reading around .001 so I went ahead and put the other 1/4 cup in and it's currently reading right around .002. So it seems my 1/4 cup=.001 is going to be close enough.
