I was up early this morning, laying on the sofa watching some tv, and I seen my retriever wagging her tail and going into "play mode", and my other little dog looking down at something. I figured it was a cricket, as they always seem to be randomly roaming throughout the house anymore. I didn't bother getting up immediately, but then curiosity got the best of me, and good thing it did. Upon closer inspection it was one of my Japonica shrimp! He was all the way across the room from the tank he was meant to be in. Don't know how long he'd been out, but I picked him up and put him back into the tank. He zoomed off like nothing was wrong.
I thought if anything were to escape it would be the red-claw crabs that are in there. One of the crabs was living in my hang-on filter, but then it went back into the tank with the other one.
So now I've got to worry about my shrimp escaping! That tank has one of those plastic condensation lids on it and I guess that makes it easy for escape.
It's always something!!
