I went and bought new gravel and some plants for the tank my F8's previously were in. I've got it all set up, heater and filter running. Got a couple of snails in there (hitchhikers on the plants) and I am feeding the filter with flake food until I am sure it's okay for my puffers to go in there (I also have spare sponges in my other tank, and I am going to put an extra one in the filter when I introduce the fish). I've decided that I'm moving my dwarf puffers out of the tank with the irrubesco and they are getting a tank of their own. This tank sits opposite of the sofa, next to the tv, so I figure it will make for good puffer-watching. :D

Today, we are possibly reserving this little monster
Image..
Why?.. I've no idea, she's just a cutie, and what's one more cat? lol. Lots of extra money gone but that's about it.
She is available but I have to ring later to see the price and if we can have her.. I'm guessing she'll be about £500 :?
My mum and dad won't ring for some reason even though they want her.. not me, but whatever I guess I have to get over my phobia some day.

Haha I never was a cat person until we got our cats.. they're like little dogs. She is cute, I'm not getting my hopes up though because the woman really does mess you about (lets hope she doesn't own puffers on here) but she does.. we got my cat from her and she changed her mind and swapped them about loads of times.. I was having the girl, then the boy then the girl, then none of them, then the boy etc.. and this is after we'd reserved and put a £100 deposit down for the one we had chosen.

Today has been fantastic! It's like Christmas in July!!

First of all, my order of dwarf puffers, red claw crabs and Japonica shrimp arrived first thing this morning. I was happy to see that they were all alive and well. I set up a new tank, got the gravel yesterday, along with some plants. I had some other pieces here and there, and I don't mind saying, it's looking pretty good. The shrimp are bigger than the puffers!! I will take some photos later and try to upload them.

And as if that wasn't excellent, I got another delivery. Several weeks ago I had ordered some aquatic plants from an online shop, but the Vallis that he sent me was really bad, so the guy said he would replace it. Then a few weeks after that, I got another delivery of more Vallis, only this was worse than the first order, I even took photos to show the guy how badly it turned up. Well, today I finally got the replacement Vallis and it's in great condition, and best part is that the guy sent way more than I had originally ordered!!! So I quickly put that into the new tank, and it's looking even nicer now.

So, I was quite happy with that. Then the post came and I received my 2 heaters that I had ordered, and I was in desperate need of one because the one I was using just goes and goes, it never turns off, so I have to manually plug and unplug in order to keep the temperature right. The other one is a replacement for one that's got condensation in it (which can't be good). By now, I'm feeling very happy with all the stuff I've received .... but it gets even better!!

I have a friend in Maryland (that's where I was born and went to school), we went to high school together, and we've kept in touch, although not seen each other face to face for about 30 years. Anyway, she's the best kind of friend one could have. Today I received 2 boxes filled with American foods -- all sorts of stuff (Apple Jacks (1) & Honey Nut Cheerios (2) cereals, Smuckers Goober grape, pretzels (3 bags), Chex mix, Swedish fish, Tootsie Rolls (4 bags), Velveeta cheese and macaroni, 4 cans of Albacore tuna, Hi-C fruit drink ... and various other items). It truly made me feel like it's Christmas today. I don't think I could be any happier between the new puffers, shrimp, & crabs, heaters and all the American goodies!

And although it's raining and a bit cool, what a great day it's turned out to be!!! :hyper:

Yeah things got even better after I posted the above message -- I found out that 3 of my pygmy chameleon's eggs had hatched out and I now have 3 baby pygmies! (Made a separate post about it). :grin2:

Glad to hear you're reserved your beautiful kitty. :D

Stay positive, it could be a lot worse ;) Sometimes it doesn't seem like it could but it very easily could.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Yay, baby pygmies! =D

Hope tomorrow's better for you, X-ray.

Today, I've done nothing productive... except maybe the fact that I came back to TPF. B)

Ppg.. Selfridges in the UK sell quite a lot of American foods if you're interested.. I know they have marshmellow fluff and lucky charms and other cereals and boxes and jars of things (forgot the names).
