I honestly didn't know what it was either! Looked a bit like a weather loach with the two pairs of barbs but it was the dorsal fin that somehow tipped me off to type 'hillstream loach' into google. Got my lead from a pic in the image gallery among all the sucker varieties.
Wonder how many more little gem's like that are out there in China?

Looks like they need a sandy substrate, cool water in the high sixties to low seventies, probably loads of O2, get to four to six inches and like to hang out in a gang. I don't know if they like soft or hard water.
I'd try them if I had a spare 30g I could keep coolish. Mine seem to be full of puffers
If I do find some here I might try some with my two fancy goldies, unless they nip, so maybe not. Short finned goldies, yes I would.
Seems that 'Loaches.com' is just like us but not many puffers. Wierd or what?
