I have to agree with what mrgreen has said here, especially about men being on their best behaviour at first -- I definitely fell for that one and only found out, too late, that the person was VERY different from the image they projected for a couple of years. You're still young, hold out for someone who's sincere and honest, best qualities you can get. yup

There is a reason in you that you kept looking the other way for 3 years. Don't tell me you had no suspicions. If you don't find out what that is in you that tolerated that kind of indifference & lack of respect towards you, you are bound to repeat the behavior. I suggest counseling with a good therapist, before you decide to move on to a new relationship. Please be sure you are tested for all communicable diseases too.

Gee, that guys a real loser. I've been saying that for a bit though, lol.

Good luck with the new guy, hopefully he turns out to be a keeper :)

I just want to back up the getting tested for infections/diseases. Many of them have NO SYMPTOMS including HIV. I would get tested now and get tested again in a few months as not all things will show up at the first testing.

The puffer is adorable as is the name. I want one :smitten:

good god, you better believe it... i never do anything with a guy until we are both tested... its hard to do sometimes tho, cause as wierd as it seems, you almost feel rude asking someone to get tested... if thats not wierd...

to PP- yea, i somewhat had suspicions... but i had no proof... none what so ever... what could i do? nothing really... which BLOWS!

Hepatitis C is one sexually transmitted disease many Drs don't regularly test for. Symptoms don't show up for 20 years--after you're in liver failure.

I completely understand. I had my boyfriend get tested before anything happened too. If a guy takes offense to that then there's something wrong. Frankly, I would be relieved to know that my partner was clean!

Although my marriage is far from perfect, I am soooo glad that I'm not in the dating game nowdays. There's just so much to go wrong, so much to think about. Maybe getting older has it's good points too (oh, what am I saying?!!) :dazed:
