Rachy, are you at all close to Ferrybridge Aquatics? We were there today and they had a few different kinds of food for fry. Just thought I'd mention it, in case you were close to there. :)

Well listen, it's not really that close to us either, about an hours drive .... but if you need something, I could always go up and get it and then post it to you. I am always willing to help a fellow puffer lover. So if your banana worm culture doesn't work, just let me know and I can get something from Ferrybridge and send it on to you.
May I ask what town you're in, just so I have an idea where you are (if you don't mind me asking that is)? :)

babies are still doing well :) every day finding more eggs and babies in the main tank. so far have found 1 dead baby tho :( not sure why, but i guess i should expect some of them not to make it shouldnt i! the oldest are 10 days old now :) eating well, im giving them frozen baby brine shrimp, and now banana worms aswell :).
theyre in a small tank, all it has in is a couple of moss balls and some riccia for them, its bare bottomed etc...does anyone have any idea how i can clean the bottom of the tank? had a try 2nite with a largeish pipette, but didnt manage very well lol. i just wanna get rid of ll the rubbish thats on the bottom, but if i use siphon like i normally would, its gonna suck the tiddlers up isnt it :?

That's excellent that you're still finding eggs, and that your babies are getting older. And yes, I would think finding a few dead ones is going to be normal, that's why they lay so many, because some are just not going to make it.

You could try putting some sort of stocking or netting over the siphon so it doesn't suck up the babies, but I'm not sure what would be big enough to allow dirt to get through and yet not suck up the small ones. :)

Updates?
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

I was looking at my Dwarf puffers today, I've got 2 really big ones in my tank (along with the others that are regular size) .... I wish they'd make babies! You are so fortunate to have experienced baby puffers. The only babies I get to see are the endless amounts of Endlers that seem to be taking over my tank!!

you can stretch a piece of nylon stocking over the intake end of your syphon, & fasten it with a rubber band to prevent the baby fish from being sucked up by the syphon :)

yep it has been a great experience for sure :D and a very cute 1 lol!! have just cleaned the adults tank again tonight, and found another 26 eggs...there was a lot more, but for some reason all the others had fungus on :( also, i found a baby in the adults tank as big as my oldest babies in the fry tank!! that means the little guy has managed to survive with the adults for 2.5 weeks :D
