Post by xmikebrock »

im going to be setting up an 80-100g tank in a few weeks,
will a 1000gph canister filter be too much?

is there even such thing as too much filtration?

-thanks

No such thing as over filteration as an example on one of my 6x2x2 tanks i have
1x fluval fx5 canister
1x tetratec ex 1200 canister
1x eheim 2212 aquaball
1x aquael internal

i am a firm believer in over filteration.

The more the merrier!!

Once you've got the filter media inside plus the general accumulated waste it will not be 1000GPH

A lot of filters put up the turnover of the pump with it unloaded, they dont actually seem to do it with media inside. Although eheim seems too :)
