Its not that he went anywhere, but for the last year Bubba (my turgidus) has been in the lower spot of a dual stand. So he was always at ankle height and I rarely saw him other than when I got down on hands and knees to feed him. He rarely came out in the open, often times you'd just barely see his nose or an eye through a gap in the driftwood.
Last weekend, I finally got around to re-arranging the tanks. Frank, my figure 8, had passed away a few months ago, so his 29 gallon tank was empty other than 3 little male endlers. So after everything was rearranged, the endlers are in a 2 gallon and Bubba got the disinfected/cleaned 29 gallon tank.. and he's now back on top of my dresser at eye level.
The first few days he was nervous and hiding.. new view, new tank layout. Last Thursday Ryan walked into the room to see him fully puffed up, scared the crap out of him. We've never seen him puff before, ever. Didn't seem stressed, just showing off.
I went camping for a few days with my horse, and came home last night after Bub's tank lights were already out. This morning when I got up and stopped by his tank to say good morning, the little buggar was running up and down the glass, wiggling all over, so happy to see me
