well that's what i meant that they get stuck to it.....
but i put them on my cansiter filters too....they don't stick to the sponge on those either?....but that is great that he can swim the current....strong little one.....

If you are dropping a sponge on it, and want to be sure he doesn't get stuck, make it a little larger sponge, and make sure it is large open pores. This will mean the same flow into the sponge, but it will be less flux/unit of surface area. If you know the gallons per hour of your tank you can figure out the flux through any given surface unit, and then just increase the size to get it to what you feel would be a manageable current if he was having a lazy/off day.

Marineland replacement filter baskets for eclipse tanks are big, big intakes, and I've found they are easy to rig over nearly any intake.
