If marine ich and freshwater ich are similar, then raising the temp. will help.Well I had an Ich like fungus on my otto.
Ich is not a fungus, it is a parasite.
So I shouldn't have gone with a dsb? I thought it was good to control the nitrates?
It is--for reef tanks where the sand won't be disturbed, not in a tank with predators that disturb the sand like a large puffer will do.
This is what I'm going to do:
Soak his food in prazipro, keep treating the tank with vit c and when the beta glucan get's here I'll soak his food in that too. Does that sound like a plan?
I was using the Prazi for IPs in the discus when I noticed ich on them too (see what happens when I don't QT a perfectly healthy-looking fish? That healthy-looking discus was carrying parasites it could handle that my other fish could not). My discus breeder/friend said to pour the Prazi into the tank to treat the ich & get the temp up to 86. I do not know if this will harm any inverts in your LR or not.
If marine ich and freshwater ich are similar, then raising the temp. will help.
Not at all the same--2 totally different parasites. SW crypt (not ich) does not respond the same to higher temps & with it attacking gills so often, it can kill the fish from lowering O2 in the tank with the higher temps. I have occasionally seen ich spots on fish that went away w/o treatment. Keep an eye on things for now & see if it gets worse. Healthy, vitamin-soaked foods, perfect water quality & vitamin C, might just do the trick.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...
