Yeah i will be sending pics soon but i have a few questions. My fish is really active swimming up and down right up against the glass. Is this a problem?

hi, welcome to the site! and congrats on your new puffer. I'm pretty new to puffers as well. What i have gleamed from this bottomless font of knowledge that is the puffer forum is that your puffer may be a bit stressed out due to the move. or maybe he doesn't have enough plant cover to hide in? like i said i'm new as well. he may just need a few days to settle in!

thanks for the knowledge and welcome to the site aswell. I have some plants in there but they arent very big. They tend to be a little expensive at the stores. i have plenty of slate and driftwood in there with caves. Maybe ill just monitor for about a week or so.

yeah its noraml behaviour, just settling in. The more hidey holes and cover the better to make him feel more secure

btw pufferpunk!!! you seem to be the god or goddess of the website so here is a question. Do the baleyi bury themselves like the suvatti does?

I have 2 and they never bury themselves , however the do dig caves to rest inn.
So i prefer sand.

My puffer is still on one side of the tank swimming up and down all day and all night. What is wrong. Water is good just a little hard that is all. I have caves and sand and veggies but he like the glass wall. really sucks Ive had him for about a week. any suggestions?

How much decor do you have in your tank?

If you post a picture of your tank we might be able to give you a few suggestions on the decor. My GSP Milton took a couple of weeks to really settle down in his tank and even now after a few months he still gets excited to see me and paces up and down the glass. If you don't have a background on the tank already that would help. Other than that he might just need more decorations or a bit more time to get used to his new home.

Yeah, my little one gets excited to see me as well, I swear he can hear me walking down the hallway and he shoots out from under his wood and starts swimming all erratically.

Yeah, even congo puffer which normally (always) bury themselves in sand do this routine when they see their owner. I think your puffer still need to setttle in. Don't worry abt it, no harm for them. Anway That's a VERY VERY cool puffer. post some pictures!! I think $65 for it is pretty resonable.

I think observe him closely for a few days. Water parameters (mainkiller) pretty important. If you have doubt, WC alittle.

The door to my bathroom is directly in front of Milton's tank and yesterday I was in there doing my make up and what not with the door open. I happened to glance out the door and there was Milton staring at me! and of course Merlin, the betta (his tank is right next to milton, they are happy neighbors) was watching me too! It kind of creeped me out, lol!

Well the hairy puffer wasnt really the one i wanted. I originally wanted an arrowhead and at the store i honestly thought the baileyi was one. But after further review I realized that it wasnt. I hated doing it but today i took the fish to a pet store and they accepted him and gave me store credit. It really sucks cause I love puffers and didnt want to just switch but i didnt want a baileyi. I did however purchase a congo puffer and it will be here sometime next week. That is one of the puffers i really wanted i just couldnt find one. Ill definitely post some pics of him.
