Re: Help! GSP losing appetite and weight!
Good News! Last night (24hrs after the second treament of Jungle Buddies) Biggie ate half a scallop! His nice white under belly has returned also! I couldn't be more relieved. Thanks everyone for your replies and concern. On a side note, Reffstock is in Denver this weekend and I plan to look for a r...

Re: Help! GSP losing appetite and weight!
Treated with the Jungle Buddies last night. Will do a w/c tonight and treat again tomorrow. Hopefully it will do the trick. PP's article in the puffer library suggests 2-4" puffers be in 1.010 - 1.015, but you can also keep him in full marine. Both of mine are in marine, and especially the larg...

Re: Help! GSP losing appetite and weight!
... a floating hydrometer ususally but I recently broke it and just been using the same amount of salt I have for the last couple months. Was this floating hydrometer the kind that is also a thermometer? Hopefully it didn't break in the tank. :/ I'd get another hydrometer or a refractometer if you ...

Re: Help! GSP losing appetite and weight!
red wigglers are not a great food source for fish. They contain thiaminase which can build up and cause vitamin deficiencies. Do you use a hydrometer or refractometer to measure salinity or sg? 1.008 might be a little low for a GSP but I don't think that would cause a problem in itself. The wiggler...

Pretty sweet! It's def. a process trying to arrange rocks with a gsp in mind. Looking forward to watching you progress to full marine.

Re: Fahaka tank-top Q
I've never owned a puffer other than my GSP but I agree with purplecandle's hubby, plexiglass would prob. be a good option. BUT...I also agree with RTR, a piece thick enough to be effective would be costly. I worked at a sign shop for many years and we typically had fall-off (scrap pieces) of plexi ...

Re: Shrimp Gone AWOL
I've seen Biggie chase a few ghost shrimp until they jumped out of the tank and stuck on the acrylic light guard. I'm assuming he finally ate them or ran them off because there have been no sign of them in some time. Glad you found yours in time.

Re: Video of Biggie (gsp)
Thanks PPG. He does favor the right side of the tank. I wondering if that's because he has plants on that side. I kept the left a little more open for swimming room but he pretty much does all his biz on the right. Was thinking of adding more plants but I don't want to overcrowed the tank.

Video of Biggie (gsp)
It's really rare that I get any decent pics or video of Biggie because he views me as the paparazzi. BUT, on this particular day he set the stage for a short video to be shot. I was only allowed to shoot from a minimum of 5 feet away. Thank heaven for the zoom button. If you notice during the ...

What a character. I wish Biggie was less camera shy.
