i have a 5 gl tank i can emergency cycle if that would be an ok tank for the cichlid for the time being. he is about 1 1/2 in and is some sort of african cichlid. i cant figure exactly the type for the life of me.

ok pardon my mistake, for i am colorblind and my husband just pointed out that the algea is brown ... yes they are in the same tank for now. i have had the puffers for a bit. cichlids are new, lost 2, havent got one to live longer than a week...

My tank is getting red looking algea, is this normal? Also i really need to talk to someone who knows anything about african cichlids, mine keep dying, and i dont know why?!?

The decor is very light for now, 1 tall plant, 2 small plants, 1 big rock, 1 small coral, 1 small hut and a background. i have pictures of my tank up now, its a work in progress, they LOVE chasing ghost shrimp. ill keep trying to rearrange and add stuff, maybe something new will help him out

I have 2 GSP's in a 55 gallon tank, so they have lots of room, does anyone know why they become fixated, what i mean is one of the puffers swims in the same spot of the tank all day and all night, sliding his nose up and down the glass, non stop, well almost, if there is food he chows and then goes ...

oh crap. should i do anything else? also i know i was way over feeding them before, but how much should i feed them a day? they wont really eat the bloodworms, mostly krill, wont touch the fish flakes i was told they eat, and i cant find snails small enough in this town

Specific Gravity is at 1.005, measured with a hydrometer, b-s is for salt water

Hard works pays off in the end! I hope they grow fast, they look SO lost in that huge tank! whats SG mean? the directions said to put the bacteria into to filter and let it cycle through the water for 2 days, i only let it go one, it said it would make water immediately safe for fish.

ok 55 gallon tank is set up, i did let it run overnight, fish move in today, i used the aquasafe and also did an emergency cycle with some biosripa. They look much happier, swimming all over. the ph, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite tests all show that they are acceptable. I am going to do a water chang...

its a never been used tank, it comes with lid and stand, for 100$, then i need to get rocks, i think a filter sys and lots more water conditioning things and a couple more tests, i have a hydrometer and ammonia test, i need nitrate test for sure. i hope they chipper up once they get moved!
