Re: Just to let you know of a cheap external filter!!!!!
Noted and no it wasn't in reference to your post, its just a general note of a problem i have seen on this forum. The few i noted are thread hijacking and fault picking.

Re: Just to let you know of a cheap external filter!!!!!
Worth mentioning yes, mines been on the go a week and is perfect but the guy i bought it from bought 500 of them for his fish shop and he was told that they couldnt compete with eheim on that size filter and because they never broke down there was no profit in selling parts to existing customers. Fl...

Re: Started Converting To Brackish, Minor Problem, Ideas?
Iput the water in my container (about 8 gallons) and treated it and then mixed in a tablespoon at a time until completely dissolved, went to 16 tablespoons (not heaped, not quite level) so thats overall 16 tablespoons of salt for 25 gallons, which is far less than would cause problems from what ive ...

Started Converting To Brackish, Minor Problem, Ideas?
Well thats me started adding the salt to my set up for the f8's and the gobys, i have a 25 gallon tank and its a steady 80 deg, parameters are all good. I put in enough salt to cover less than one tablespoon per gallon, i mixed up 16 tablespoons worth (not really heaped either) just to start it all ...

Re: Emergency Help - Dwarf shocked- HELP!
Paleness happens, mine changed when i bought another f8 as company. Melafix is wonderfull stuff, you can make your own if you have 100% pure teatree oil, 1% teatree to 99% distilled water. May be able to get some from your department store etc of the mix use 5ml for 50 litres.

Re: Apple Snails
as long as its not touching the side it should be fine, but use caution, i would try and get something to space it a little, has the water been dechlorinated? a good idea may be to use a piece of deco from main tank with plenty of life (bacteria) on it just to tempt them. algae discs (very cheap) pl...

Re: Apple Snails
you could put some fine filter media in to slow down current, and some algae discs, heat will become important when it comes time to breed them, you slkowly raise temp and they get frisky. Wouldnt worry too much about filtering massively as they like a good bit of algae/slime to feed on, too much di...
