Re: Sooo much algae!

How exactly did you cycle those two months?
No, you cannot add any algae eating animals. Green water should clear up after a while. Do you have any solid algae growing on surfaces?

Re: Sooo much algae!

How long has the tank been set up? It is natural for a new system to go through an algae bloom. Is your water change schedule like? Do you think perhaps you're overfeeding?

Re: Help! Blue spotted acting possessed

I hope you're feeding them more than Krill. It is not a very good diet for them. Go to our library and read the articles on feeding. Lots of great options there!

It's all pretty weird... Glad he's acting normal again. Keep a good eye on him though.

That is a sign of nitrite poisoning. Are your test kits up-to-date? What are the exact parameters?

Re: Fahaka suffered foul hot water ! Now lethargic and won't eat!

Can you toss the Python hose out the window? Gravity will do the rest. I have around 400 gallons at my house between 7 tanks and that's how I do it. Fahakas are very sensitive intend to sulk pretty easily. Give him some time. I'm glad you straightened out the parameters. Hold the test tube up to a w...

With any puffer or any fish at all, there is always a chance of them jumping out.

Sausage links are fine.
He shouldn't have teeth issues like some other species.

Not sure why they recommended salt but stop with it. How big is the puffer? I have ALWAYS done 50% weekly water changes, often more. If he's not eating, definitely try earthworms. Do you have room for a 120g? They're only 4' across. Get yourself a decent API liquid test kit.

Your 20g tank is certainly large enough for any of the redeye lurker species. I'd go at least 30g for the ambush predators, when full-grown.

I'd rather see the schoutedeni in groups, so I wouldn't keep 3 of them in <40g. Wesley Wong usually has them (you can find him on Facebook).

Re: New f8 fin damage

Looks like severe fin rot/fungus. Get something to treat that. See if you can get Melafix/Pimafix, too.
