Quick update about Douglas the Mbu
Douglas has been here for a fortnight now so I thought I'd post an update. Well,he's great :D He's feeding well,I'm hand feeding him so we are really getting to know each other and the smaller fish in the tank wait round his mouth for any bits of prawn, mussel or whatever,so everyone's happy. He's de...

Re: F8 Puffers - Freshwater to Brackish
Thanks Paul, thats exactly the type of feedback I was hoping for :) I'm always trying to do the best for my fish and I would never do anything to compromise that, but sometimes I think that things can be considered 'the right way' just because that's how they're done, rather than because that's how the...

F8 Puffers - Freshwater to Brackish
Hi folks About 6 weeks ago I bought 3 F8's who were being kept in freshwater at my LFS. I set them up in their own tank, still in freshwater, fully intending converting them to brackish more or less straight away. But,due to various circumstances,I haven't as yet and they are still in freshwater,which...

Re: Mbu's (again)
Hello from one mbu owner to another. Mine is just a baby at the moment and her name is Phoebe, like your boys she seems to be very laid back as far as tankmates are concerned and is developing into a real character. She will live in an eight footer shortly, from what I've read that seems to be a minim...

Dentistry for puffers
As you may be aware one of my new SAPs has an overgrown beak which was preventing it from eating properly. My husband has had to file the teeth on several marine puffers, the smallest being a valentini of 6cm,but this little chap is only 3cm including tail,so we knew it would be tricky. We took seve...

Re: Aquarium Salt
I have no help to offer but can I just say you have made me laugh very loudly with your comment, 'I'm looking to get into puffering'
Next time anyone asks about my hobbies I'm going to say that I'm into puffering in a big way, that'll be a converation stopper I should imagine lol!

Re: Using Garlic to soak food
I use it but I always use a liquid garlic solution sold in aquarium shops especially for use in food.
Just a few drops per feed soaked for about 30 minutes before feeding.Much easier than buying fresh or powdered I would think.

A shoal of SAPs
Hi As I've posted elsewhere I bought 4 little SAPs the other day and I've been reading as much as I can about them. I've read that they are happy to be kept in groups and my 4 certainly seem to be quite comfortable with each other. It's got me thinking and I was wondering if anyone keeps them in a d...
