Not really there are a number of Eels which grow to much smaller sizes than the Fire Eel. Spaghetti eels for example.

he is correct though, eels do far far better with sand, they seem to struggle without it. Id definately remove the nasty gravel and do some sand so he can bury himself etc...

I just feed my Puffers and they clear up the rest. Unless i find that they havent got much then ill place food on the tank floor and let them eat till they stop

These 2 are more confusing than some of the smaller target puffers but they are stunning looking specimens and bridge that gap between the Mbus, Fahakas and the smaller species. Dwarf Puffers are true freshwater fish and should not be kept in brackish water at all.

such a nice tank and fish, then you look at the gravel and think " what in gods name was she on when that gravel was put in the tank"

They are fairly common up my way, Ultimate Aquatics have them regularly for about £25-£35 each depending on size.

MY male and female lived in harmony for ages, bbut as mentioned be prepared for the carnage to ensue and spit them if required
