Fire Eel

Post by groovitudedude »

Okay, so here's my FIRE EEL that's not in the best of conditions right now. He doesn't have ich, but I think it might be from the substrate or something. Anyway, rest assured, he's acting fine/normal. He's about nine inches long.

Ha! I haven't seen him eat bloodworms, but I've had him for two weeks, and he's acting fine. Maybe he's eating the fallen ones when I'm asleep or something. Anyway, you can tell it's not a picture from online because of the professional photography (jk), and the substrate (black, blue, and purple).

My fire eel was the only fish my husband ever was sad I got rid of. He was 2' & tore up every single plant every night & I had to replant the whole tank over again every morning! I didn't want to get rid of him either but I'd had enough! I'd add Melafix for those marks on him.

Okay. Here's the story on the gravel: My favorite color is purple. Yeah, it's kinda weird, but I'm probably the only guy with the guts to say it. It's actually a royal color, believe it or not. Anyway, that's the purple part. And the black part represents Avenged Sevenfold, my favorite band. No, I'm not emo with a weird emo haircut. I really should post a pic of myself.

And I have a question about my DP's. One of them looks like a mini fahaka w/ it's stripes, but I'm sure it's not a fry. The other one has spots and looks more like a GSP or F8. However, I bought both of them from the same store, the same tank, etc. Any ideas on them? Should I wait to see if the spotted one gets bigger, and if he does, I'll return him? Or return him now? He's perfectly healthy, I'm just not willing to take on the responsibilities of a Brackish Puffer.

I have a foot long fire eel too, in my oscar tank....

It's a complete pain to get him to eat... i have to hold a bloodworm cube next to his (usually upside down) head and wait while he has a nibble...

at the same time i have to fend my brute of an oscar off with my other hand to allow the eel time to eat.

Things we do for our fish... my boyfriend's sure i'm mad.

Been too caught up in school, running, and drama (class) to be on TPF lately...

He's being stupid. Just sitting in the corner w/ his head down. He's not sick, 'cause I see him at midnight swimmin' around. Just dumb during the day. Have never seen him eat, but put in a whole bunch of bloodworms at night. Any suggestions?
