Re: Overfeeding Puffers

I over fed my Fahaka Puffer on his first night with me. I'll never do that again bc he was pitiful. I wasn't sure how much to feed him and he was very aggressively taking the food so I kept going until it was gone. 2 5ml syringes full of blood worms and brine shrimp. My puffer laid on the bottom and...

Re: What's your puffer's name?

I named my little Fahaka Puffer Yoshi. I named him this bc when I got him 9 days ago he was very scared and would hide in my live plants. He would blend in very well so it would take me some time to find him but it would always be his sweet little face peeking out from the leaves that I would spot f...

Re: Good tank deal?

I am new to this forum and am only here to learn about my Fahaka Puffer. I am learning this forum as I go so, I replied to a 12 year old thread. It doesn't bother me that the original person who posted this may not even be around to read my reply. I'm sorry if it upsets any one else. I thought this ...

Re: fahaka laying eggs

No, I actually do not drop an egg every month. I have not dropped a egg in 22 years. Fish and humans are totally different so, I honestly did not know that she would drop eggs without a male present. That's what I came here for was to learn about my Fahaka Puffer. I have only been back into the aqua...

Re: Show your face!

Hello, everyone! My name is Lori and I am new to this forum and to Puffer fish. I am the proud Mama of a Fahaka Puffer that I named Yoshi. I have had Yoshi for 8 days now and he's already got my heart.

Re: Pond snails

It was my understanding that you needed to feed them snails to keep their beaks (teeth) in check. If you don't feed them hard foods like snails their teeth will over grow and cause them to either have difficulty eating or not be able to eat at all. Then they could starve to death unless you manually...

Re: fahaka laying eggs

If the puffer is a female she can lay the eggs without a males presence? I did not know that and that is very interesting. I have a baby puffer that I've had for 8 days now and I do not know if it's a male or female. If a puffer lays eggs without another puffer present, that means you have a female?...

Re: Good tank deal?

I wouldn't have thought about that for a second. I would have ripped his arm off buying both tanks. That's an awesome deal for either tank! But, I get excited about tanks, I am a buy now and figure out the logistics of where I'm going to put it and what I'm going to put in it later kinda girl...lol ...

Re: Boiled alive

I have a 224 gal tank and have 2 heaters in it for redundancy and cooking my Fahaka was one of my concerns. I was advised to get inkbird as an overheating prevention. Inkbird also connects to your smart phone so that you can get notifications if an issue comes up. I am still getting my tank ready fo...

Re: Pumped Water Changes Help Please

Goddess, this all sounds so complicated. I just use a hygger 5 in 1 gravel cleaner. I plug it in, flip the switch to on and it automatically starts pumping water. My husband attached tubing that he got from Lowe's to the short tube that came with my Hygger vacuum so that it will reach and drain wate...
