If you do get otos, get at least 2. They like company and don't do well on their own.

It also depends on the tank size. If you have a 30 gallon- 1 gsp. If you have a 60 gallon- they 2 may be okay.

I agree that it's possible the there is something not right with the tank, but I don't think that just because a fish dies shortly after being introduced into a new tank that we should assume that there is a problem. As I stated above, 1 of my 3 dp's died the first night. The water was fine and I bo...

Mine also LOVE frozen (then thawed, of course) mysis shrimp. Unlike brine shrimp, they are very nutritious.

I never saw any in my lfs's either. There is a small shop near me that will order fish for me. If the fish is available through his supplier, he can order it! I have a lot of plants in my tank. I also got a couple small terra-cotta pots to use as caves (they don't go near them!). As long as you have...

When I got my 3 puffers, one died the first night. I went on to get another and all three have done well so far. Sometimes it's just the puffer and not you. Make sure the water was okay and try again!

All figure 8's in species tanks?

Hi all! In looking for info on figure 8's, I have found that many people keep figure 8's in community tanks (some even say that they are fw fish!). Anyone keep their fig 8's in community tanks?

I know...you're totally right. I actually stood there wondering how I could get rid of all of my tropicals in my 20 gallon so I could bring one home. I was very strong and walked out...puffer-less. I am currently getting a 10 gallon ready for some DP's, and am thinking about turning my 20 gallon int...

There was a bit of green at the very top. Is this (possible) discoloration an unhappiness issue or a true health problem?

Well, that probably explains it! I saw it at Petco. They usually do have GSP's, but these didn't look like them. These said "leopard puffer" and were not the bright green that the GSP usually seem to be. They were more of a brownish over some spots. They looked very sad and undernourished!...
