GSP and corals..

Well ... after reading some topics about corals in a GSP tank, i have still some questions left..

I've read that it is possible to keep a GSP in a marine tank, salinity of 1.024/1.025. This can only be done if he is an adult.
I've also read that if you keep corals with you GSP it will nip off some chunks of coral..

My question is, are there corals that the GSP will leave alone, or does the GSP get used to the corals and leave them alone? Or is it better that I keep it in water with a lower salinity and just have stones and wood in the tank??

I know there are decorations looking like coral, but they stay fake, just plastic rubbish If it ain't the best solution to keep the GSP in a full marine tank just let it know, then it's going to be brack water

A lot of it depends on the individual puffer. Some are just nippy and always have to taste things, others don't do much. Your choice of coral types comes into play too, certian types of corals are thought to taste bad and puffers might leave them alone... I think mushrooms are one type, not sure what some others would be off the top of my head.

As far as whether or not its better for the fish to be in brackish or marine, people that have kept them for years found they live longer and healthier lives if they are moved to marine as they age. I don't think anyone's done enough "testing" yet to know how starting them in full marine when they are young will turn out. High brackish is good for them, but generally full marine is just easier to keep stable (maybe its just easier to measure the salt, hehe), and you have the added benefit of being able to use a skimmer.

When I had my GSP, he wouldn't touch any coral I put in there. Keep in mind he was young.

You could try a toadstool too. Leathers have toxic 'blood' so I beleive most puffers would stay away.

Still didn't decided if it gonna be full marine or high brackish, depends also on the size of the GSP the shop sells Still 3 months left for preparation of the tank and the surrounding of it (preparation tank for the water, etc).
