Covers for acrylic aquarium?? (evaporation running rampant)

Hi, i just recently bought a 20 gal acrylic aquarium (SeaClear i think)

im quite happy with it, other than the out of control evaporation and salt creep

the holes cut towards the back of the top are just way too large for my needs and i cant find a good way to cover them - is there any commercial solution, or any DIY tips ???

i currently have cut-to-size plastic document covers (like the kind from kinkos) covering the holes, but the evaporation tends to bow them down and then water leaks and salt builds up all over the top - quite unsightly

Plexiglass from the hardware store, cut and drilled to fit exactly.

one question though... when you say "drilled" , what does that mean in this case? would i actually affix it to the tank via screws or silicone?

Nah, just leave it oversized enough to sit firmly on the canopy you have. I mean drill and saw holes to fit your exact needs, plexiglass does both easily.
