KH testing not working?

Post by only120xs »

I bought a water test kit yesterday and tested my pH, GH, and KH, but I couldn't get the KH test to work (I forget the name of the kit, but it's a fresh water kit from a company called Red Sea from Israel). The water never really changed color, except being a very very light orange (the color of the test liquid) after about 8 drops. With the other tests I did, the water was a very obvious color, but the KH test was basically clear with just the slightest hint of color. Is the test liquid bad? I specifically bought this kit because it was the only one with a KH test!

The GH tested harder than 30, and the pH tested at 8.2, but I thought that the GH test doesn't really mean much; I really want to know the KH, right? (Brackish tank)

What colors do you see on the chart? are they the same tone as the color you got? It could be your reading is just WAY off the charts, not that the test is bad already.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.
