Hi, since I put my GSP in all most complete marine water and added old live rocks he keeps biting in them :? He attacks the rocks and bites chunks off.

I first thought he lost his teeth when he banged the window of the tank but now I see him biting off peaces of live rock :shock: Especially the coral parts seem very tasty.

Is that normal for a GSP? He spits it in the water and does not seem to swallow it.

There goes my dream of putting leathers or a coral in his tank :roll: :wink:

Yes, that's normal. They eat on most inverts they can find and devour. He spits out snail shells the same way.

Anyway, the idea of live rock is that it neutralizes the nitrates in the tank by turning them into nitrogen in anoxic areas deep in the rock. They will continue doing that even if the puffer has cleaned the surface.

my puffer tries to eat the ship ornament lol he has bit it several times over the past week and still doesn't know its not food! He ignores the other fish in my tank (and there are some really small ones) i'm really happy he has, but i'm not sure if he is an adult yet. he's not that big....

that's cool u have gone almost full marine, i hope one day i can do the same :)
