f8 growth rate

Say I purchase a small (1.5") F8 from the LFS, about how long will it be before it reaches it's full length? How long would ti be before he outgrows a 10G tank?

I would transfer him to a roomier tank sooner than later. Your puff has probably 'outgrown' his tank in a sense because figure eights are very active and inquisitive and need enough space to explore. I think a 10 gallon is far too cramped to house a figure eight long-term.

I've have my figure eight a bit over a year and he has grown about an inch, and in that year he lived in a 15 gallon and now a 35 gallon. If your puff remains in a ten I'd think he'd grow slower.

I agree with everything that OraLacerta says

My F8 is a little over an inch, and in a 10g tank, although we are moving next year and i'm pretty sure my parents have said I can set up a new 20g tank for Chubby at the new house.

TFM has a good plan.
A 20 gallon long would be the ideal setup for a F8 imo.
