Pea puffer belly and feeding

Post by mw252 »

Very new to pea puffers, I notice their bellies are more flat before eating and they very obviously get larger as they eat. I feed once a day either live black worms or frozen bloodworms.

Is it normal for their belly to grow and shrink so much? Can’t really find and answer and pictures show them looking both like how mine look before and after eating. Is it safe to assume feed them until their belly’s look plump? Lol, enjoying them so far.

Thanks

Yes, their belly can stretch quite a bit! Are they looking skinny before feeding?

I wouldn't say skinny but they certainly get visibility bigger while eating wanted to make sure it was normal lol. They are back to 'normal' the next day and then expand again at food time lol.

Honestly kinda cool because I can see that the smaller ones are not as full and can target feed them with a pipette :)
