Dwarf Puffer feeding

My puffers seem to love frozen blood worms, but today i tried to give them some freeze dried tubeflex, and they wouldn't even touch it.

My other fish love tubeflex, Do you think that frozen tubeflex would work better? Could it just be because they are freeze dried that my puffers wont touch them?

I want to give them more variety, i bought about 6 ramhorn snails, and I'm waiting to see if maybe they will make babies for the puffers to eat.


What else could i feed them?

Yes, DPs get spoiled quickly! If you feed them life worms, they then will refuse frozen.

I would say its because they are freeze dried. You should be able to find frozen tubifex worms. Also try frozen mysis shrimp if you can find some

1+ to PufferPunk's observation - pea puffers do become spoiled quickly. Our 3 pea puffers have been eating frozen bloodworms and live snails exclusively and when we try frozen mysis shrimp, the puffers literally let them bounce off their heads, and fall to the tank bottom. We then get the 'puffer sad face' and they drift away, hurt that we could DREAM of varying their diet.

After puffer sad face, my hubby usually caves in and thaws bloodworms for them...
