Moon Light
Moon Light
I tried the moon lighting idea that was posted except I used a battery powered LCD and the results were great. I don't know if GSPs can see in the dark but they didn't act like I was there and could see them doing their thing. It was really cool to see them fall asleep. For the most part my puffers are like caffeine junkies but to see them calm and collected was a really neat thing. I am definitely going to change to some dimmer lighting for daytime use. What do you guys recommend? The light I have at the moment is pretty bright and the puffers are really anxious it seems. Can lighting cause this?

That may just be their day time behaviour.
My GSP can be pretty manic when he's being watched, but if you sort of hide and don't move for a while he forgets you were there and goes about his buisiness searching the tank for food. Eventually he settles at the bottom of the tank by his cave and changes colours from bright yellow and dark black spots with a white belly to almost brownish orange with brown spots and a grey belly. As soon as he sees you move though, he's right back to being manic and quickly changes back to his bright colours.
How big is your tank btw? and what kind of lighting are you using? The anxiousness might be from feeling a little too exposed.
