56 gal ( us ) column tank
56 gal ( us ) column tank
Picked up tank at a yard sale a while back got it all cleaned up and cycling , I've got marine life sand substrate for fresh & salt aquariums , I have an aqueon 70 filter and a custom internal I built with a maxi-jet power head.. No decor or plants yet ... Was going to do and angel fish but after tossing ideas around doing a Puffer tank seemed pretty cool .. Now my ? Is how many puffers , I like the figure 8 and the Dwarf Puffers ,( I'm only doing one or the other ) would work in my tank 56 gal us column 30inch long x 18inch wide x 24inch tall ... Thanks for reading and any info ..

Although puffers prefer a longer footprint than tall, I think since it's 30", DPs or F8s should work. See their care profiles under the Pufferpedia & in our Library.

Welcome and I vote for dps cause they're so darn cute! I can't seem to do brackish water right for f8s anyway...

Re: 56 gal ( us ) column tank
I had the same tank for a while. I like the footprint, but a bit deep for maintenance and mine had a center brace which limited filters I could put on it. I wanted to put on an AC110 but could only go as big as the AC70. I ended up selling that one and just went with a 40B so that I could do the bigger filter. look forward to pictures when you figure out you inhabitants.
