thinking of changing to blk gravel

Post by sw10mm »

So as the title said I think ii want black gravel in my fahaka tank. I have sand now but don't really like it and my puffer doesn't dig in it any more, other then him becoming darker is there anything bad? I think it'll help the plants and colored rocks to pop more as my background is black also

Sand is so much easier to keep clean. If you want black then maybe consider black sand.

If you go gravel, go eco complete black. I use it and my plants grow great. i root tab the rocks cause its really just crushed lava rock which is inert and doesnt have mineral properties. It will eventually leach minerals and you wont have to root tab but that takes usually about a year or so. Sand is def. easier to keep clean. I have videos and pics of my puffer tank with plants and the black and brown eco complete on here. take a look and see how it is.
