Puffer friends

Currently I have one 1 1/2" green spotted puffer living in a 20 gallon aquarium. I'm planning on getting him a bigger aquarium as he grows a bit but was just wondering is there any fish that I could put in with him? I mean it's such a big tank and it would look "more full" if there was another fish swimming around!
Can I keep him with another puffer...

Your puffer will grow over time. It will become 6 inches and then your tank wont look so empty.

Instead of more fish to make it look full, use more decor. They love heavily decorated tanks. It gives them more to do and interact with, and prevents the listless glass pacing.

I keep mine with an (expendable) school of wild caught mollies.
No problem, mollies can handle most situations.
Brackish heaven...

Maybe the pet store made up their own name for them then... I know they were called sunset mollies. Their sides were a yellow/orange colour with black speckles. They looked exactly like every other mollie I've ever seen... who knows!!! Maybe I'll just get black ones, they'll complement my puffy.

Because of the Mollies, I think that my puffer that live together with the Mollies gone crazy. They used to be friends, then one day the Puffer woke up and start to chase the mollies but the Mollies too fast for the Puffer.. my puffer always turning circle and bump into thing when he unable to hit the break when chasing the Mollies.. now I think he broke his back bone or something or too much stress causing Swim Bladder problem.. he can't swim properly neight swim down anymore. Each time he failed to chase the Mollies, he will start going crazy and bite all the rock, the heater, or the Filter... don't even try to put your finger in there he will chop it off.. I bite by him 3 days ago when try to fix the filter and didn't see him coming from behind.. there is 2 small hole on my hand bcuz of the puffer buck tooth.. it's like bee sting.. I took the Mollies out but his situation didn't go back to normal and look like he is crazy already.. Poor Puffer

He doesn't look normal.. from time to time.. he swim upside down and turning cycle while doing upside down swim....when he swim normal on top of the tank.. his body bend like "U" shape.. tail and head on top and stomach sank down.

I bought a couple mollies today, just the regular black ones

Currently they are in a FW tank (about 5 gal - for now) as the pet store had them in FW. My puffers tank is brackish so would the best approach be to keep the mollies seperate, raising their sg ever so slowly (.002) then when it's the same as the puffer tank, put them in?
