I did... In captivity, they are quite hard to breed without a huge tank imo.. They are a pita for me actually.. They dun necessary lay their eggs just above the waterline.. Mine crawled all over the place. Their offspring takes very long to grow. Their eggs cluster potentially yield hundreds of tiny snail.. Which mean u will need a huge huge tank for they to grow properly..

my plan of attack if successful was to feed the current grown up to the Fahaka to de-populate the 20g as they grow...I may just throw the babies in the fahaka tank if its that bad, he may not pay attention to them untill they are of edible size....hmmm thanks for the insight

Also, they do destroy plants.. I still use mystery snail but I dun breed them anymore. I just go to a nearby pond that's infested with them and collect a clump of eggs when my stocks are running low. :D

you are just the crusher of dreams. .. I have a planted tank Ill play it by ear I guess. Where do you normally find your snails by the pond? Under rocks on the edge? Its really cold here theyre probably not around at the moment. Im trying to establish a steady supply of crunchy food and Mystery snails are the perfect size fir my fahaka and if this doesnt work out, my other options are quite $$$ in the long run

If there's snails there, it's quite hard to miss. They egg clumps whitish to bright pinkish and are usually on plants, rocks.. out of water. They dun really make the effort to hide them..
