Tank Mate for GSP???

Hi everyone,
I am new to the puffer world and I have to say I LOVE it! Puffers are the most unique fish I have ever had the privilege of living with. However, im not too sure my young GSP, Bruce Banner (Hulk (get it?? cause hes green and he puffs up )), is loving having me as his only roommate... So i have some questions.
Let me start by saying this.. Hulk as he is now is about 2", I have him in a 29 gallon brackish tank all by himself. I know that GSPs are aggressive and live best with their own species, and I know that 30 gallons should be the minimum for a single GSP.

So, would anybody be able to give me some suggestions on possible tank mates? Would I be able to get another GSP and have them live in the 29 gallon while they are young and eventually upgrade them to a 55+ gallon when they are bigger and I can afford it?

If you plan on moving Hulk to full marine and if that is to be the most economical long-term set-up of SW + skimmer + Live Rock + lighted macroalgae refugium, then he will need a larger tank (LR displaces a lot of water) just for one GSP puffer. I would suggest at least a 55 or larger.

For two GSPs I would suggest at least a 75, but larger would be better.

If you plan on a second GSP, they should be put together as soon as possible. Co-housing puffers has a better chance of success if both are introduced together quiet young.

Just a side note. If you plan on getting a 55 gallon try and make it a marine ready tank. Adding salt weekly to a 55 gallon willbbe hard and very expensive if you plan on keeping him in a high end brackish tank. With a marine tank you may change your water once a month which would be way cheaper in the long run. I have a gsp currently in brackish and that's my plan. I'm at 6 table spoons a week now and its only going to increase every week. And get more expensive every month.

The expense of a marine tank is expensive at first but cost effective in the long run. A brackish tank to high end brackish is cheap at first but expensive in the long run, like 6 CUPS of salt a week expensive. (Dont quote me on that but I'm sure I'm close) in. 55g.

Yup. Back when I was young, costs were lower. FO SW tanks were common. Now they are $$$. Plus the FOWLR + skimmer + lighted macroalga refugumium tanks are costly initially, but better and about as cheap as FW to operate long-term. They are actually far better tanks operationally and biologically than most FW tanks.
