not hating, just want to know why every puffer lover seems to be obsessed with them

Lol I wondered the same thing untill I got mine...those damn baby eyes and almost invisible fins with its ghost like movements..I just couldnt het over it after that...its very animated and just so smart for it to be so small. Plus it goes from fw to brackish to marine. ..the ability to do that is so odd considering the rest of the fish trade...sure cant do that with porky puffer and that to me is the most amusing part.
You have the right to bear Puffers.

Really? From what I understood the puffer is a full grown 6.5 inch adult.

i used to be obsessed. i was going to lfs every single week to see the puffer stocks. but now obsessed with reefs. no more puffer tanks for me. i still look for new or unusual puffers.

From what I've seen they're the most common. I've seen them at every local fish/pet store around. F8s and DPs were harder to find. They're also sold very misleadingly - often as tiny freshwater puffers, which everyone here knows is far from the truth.

I have 2 reef tanks, 3 puffer tank & a Jap GF tank!

Ilike GSPs as they are easy to get hold of and relatively hardy to keep. However I love mbus and fahakas.I'd love to get another T.oblongus. And now the marine bug has bit hard...I have 2 saltwater tanks with a 15 yr waited for porcupine puffer and a couple of tobies....and the next project is a reef tank we are planning to set up over Christmas...

And then I have 10 fish shop style tanks to make a display out of and then.....and then......and...

I was obessed the first time I saw one at the store. Its such a unique fish with its fat little body and the awesome bright green with black spotts. Its the most awesome fish!!
