Monotrete suvattii

Post by nzac »

Are these guys really as bad as they sound? stay hiden all the time or do they have at least some interaction with you? I love my fahaka, and understand a lurker probably won't behave anything like that. I am also an avid multi species piranha collector, some of these stay hidden all day and only come out at night or at least when their tank lights are off, I don't have a big problem with that but I at least knew going in that there was potential for that.

I have been considering an arrowhead or congo for some time and am just curious on their behavior, obviously every fish is different, just looking for an overall.

IME my congo stayed buried 90% of the time and laying on top of plant leaves for the last 10% of the time. Even during feeding, i had to use tongs to bring the food to his face. I hear some people's arrowhead or congo comes out when the keeper is around.
Kind regards,
Terrance

My suvattii only comes out for a few seconds at feeding time. And he only gets fed every other or third day. He has stopped burying in the sand too. He only lays in his favorite spot behind the root,
