Has anyone ever fed live freshwater clams to their puffer? I have an opportunity to get some small ones, about 1/4" in size. I was thinking they'd need to be quarantined first (could they share a QT tank with ramshorn snails?), then be crushed before feeding, like I do to the snails.
Anything weird or dangerous about freshwater clams, or anything else I need to know?

Perfectly fine but I'd freeze them. I plucked about 500 water snails from a swimming lake I was at over the summer. Still have about a dozen left in the freezer.

be careful which ones you take. Some are endangered. You don't want MNR down your back.

oh ok, thought maybe you bought them which made me curious cause i only see those big 2-3 inch freshwater clams at aqualife
