First Day in the Tank
I just got two F8s today and added them to a newly cycled 30 gallon tank... I follow lots of tips and directions given on this forum so I should be fine(Both are Healthy). My main question is: What are typical behaviors to been seen in the next few days?

Re: First Day in the Tank
Stress can really bring ich out. Could someone post the link to rtrs salt and heat method please? Thanks. Basically you raise the temperature a bit and add salt. The temp speeds up the ich's lifecycle and the salt stops it in it's tracks, once the article has been linked have a good read, then read it again. First time I used it I messed up and stopped treatment far too soon, after a few months the ich returned.

Re: First Day in the Tank
Ok you will almost definitely need to do large daily waterchanges. What are your water readings? If you don't have a good liquid test kit already you need one now. Your ammonia will most likely spike and this can kill. You need to keep a really close eye on your water readings to be safe. I am not trying to scare you as we will get you through this. If your readings are out of whack do a large 50% partial or more

Re: First Day in the Tank
It's quite common for puffers to get ich when stressed out, especially when coming from a store. Thankfully it's easy to treat
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Yes stress can make ich rear it's ugly head. Your tests should read o amm o nitri less than 20 nitra. So you have a test kit? If so what you reading now?
