bigger project than i thought

Post by jeff_purdon »

so i picked up my 46 gal. bow front tank from my brothers place today.wow. what a mess. apparently he hadnt done a WC in about oh say 8 months. he just topped it off to keep the noise down. needless to say its got the cure for cancer growing in all the mold and muck on the tank. looks like this project of setting up a SW fowlr tank for my GSP is going to be alot more work that i had planned. here are a few pics of what im working with now.

i wish i would have taken pics of the filter and gravel before i cleaned that out. it was even worse.

Apple cider vinegar works perfect for getting hard water stains off for me.

We just cleaned a crusty tank with vinegar, but I didn't bother with the crusty lid, I just use screen.
