Sand sand sand

Post by My HD PVR »

I want to switch substrates... I don't like my gravel right now, but i need a relatively cheap way to get sand... So, what should i do? I want a nice color, that will be beneficial to my tank

pool filter sand can be gotten at any pool supply store and runs about 10 bucks for a 50lb bag. and id fill it to your preference, F8s dont really bury so its what is pleasant for you

You don't need to get aragonite, it's nice, but it's a pricey preference. I have a nano marine tank with aragonite, and my puffer has basically pool sand. Both tanks hold the same water parameters.
I payed $8 for 10 lbs of aragonite sand, and about $4 or so for 50 lbs of the regular sand.

I'm not familiar with that sand. Call around to some pool shops in your area
