Golden puffer with a Mappa?

Post by J Carter »

I just found this site very cool, I have a 400 gal tank I have had running for 7 months I have a Golden puffer 10 inches I have had him for 3 years my favorite fish. I had a out break month 1/2 ago with my tank I had to blast it with copper I moved the puffer to another tank he did not do well with copper 1.5 leval every thing is doing fine again in my big tank no more parasites ick etc. My local fish shop got in a small Mapa 3 inches for a $100 I want to put him in the main tank then ad the Golden Puffer. Will they get along my golden never seems mean to any fish he even lets you pet him like a dog lol I would also like to add a solid black dog face puffer in the future .
One more question sorry for so long of a post I have a small 4 inch spiny box puffer this fish is very dumb seems to be anyway you put food in front of him takes for ever for him to eat I had to put him in a tank by his self he got stressed out in the 400 and got ick I want him back in the 400 but he want be able to eat fast enough I have 2 show size angels ,2 triggers, golden puffer etc whats you opinion ?

well copper and puffers dont mix. so please dont use it on them. it can kill them. as for anything going into your 400 with that golden, id say not at its size, you could try with the tank divided, but i wouldnt put small puffers in with bigger fish and a bigger puffer, thats asknig for issues.

if your spiny puffer is more timid id leave him out of the 400 as well.

I dont know about you r question about the mappa, but could you post a pic of your golden puffer? If its in marine conditions it could be the "holy grail of pufferdom" X.Naritus!!!! :38: :38: :38: :38: :38:

Doe sit look kinda like an A.Modestus? If so, it probably is a Naritus.
( golden puffer is a common name for a Modestus)

Very nice! Do you have a dedicated tank room the back behind the wall?

125 gallon hospital tank? :3: I'd love to hear more about your setup.
